Did this once before on my1970 IIaG. A friend of mine fabricated the entire crossmember, and basically replaced the entire frame aft of the rear axle. The job he did was absolutely first rate. You can order rar frame rails that extend forward from the rear crossmember, so don't dispair. Mostly a lot of dog's work, not terribly expensive. Next time keep the drain holes clear!
Sounds like the same job we need to do to our Series truck. might need more than the cross member on ours though. The body had had a lot of work done to it before we aquired it and is very presentable. Keep us updated.

Thanks for your kind comments. Gertie is undergoing a well-needed cleanup and replacement of her rear crossmember, and general tiy-up. Will post her again once complete.
