Just starting the strip down and cleaning of one of our client 94 Defender. It looks like the fire started in the engine bay; possibly the alternator and or alternator wiring may have been the culprit!
Will keep you up to date with pictures as the rebuild progresses…..

Motor is wired iup and ready for the Radiator, Hope to be running by Monday on the re-built motor. Then down to the paint shop to finish the paint work. S/Steel brake lines installed along with engine bay ancillary's.

Front seats are in the process of being refurbished with new foam and covers.
This will give the interior a fresh look and feel.

Off to paint and then back to the worksop. Floors re painted and new hardware throughout

I've heard that there have been many cases of defender fires caused by the power steering hoses rupturing and spraying oil on the exhaust header. Was there any evidence of this happening in this case or was there evidence to pretty much show that it was electrical? Just wondering.
